This summer, after a trip to the public pool and the grocery store, my Overland group returned to our campsite in Hveragerdi. As all good leaders do when they’re tired, I immediately laid across the top of the picnic table in full starfish mode, turned on Taylor Swift’s “Lover,” and closed my eyes. One of the campers tried to talk to me and another camper, Zach, goes, “dog is taking a time out.” Zach, you’re the goat (greatest of all time). Anyway, I’m currently sitting next to the lake after a long day at work, and I feel (in a great way) like I’m in a similar state. Dog is taking a time out. Except this time there aren’t 10 teenagers playing a rowdy game of cards around me and I’m not in Iceland. Huge improvement.
This week, I started work at this cafe/corner store, and I’m comically horrible at it. I would say my accuracy percentage with taking orders is a solid 50%. Which, I feel like in terms of life in general, maybe isn’t that bad. But in terms of getting food and drinks right, it’s not great. I’ll be honest. Like imagine every other time you order a coffee it’s wrong and your cheese roll never comes. Maybe people just need to shift their expectations.
As the title for this post suggests, I’m unfortunately not up for much chitter chatter at the moment. Instead, here is a photo journal with relatively mundane photos that’s pretty light on the journaling side of things too. Enjoy!!!!! Oh also I’m going to play pickup soccer this week and I’m SO excited. Ah, the beautiful game.

That’s it for me, folks! I’m not quite sure where this blog will go now that I’m settling into a bit more of a typical life here. I’m sure there will still be much to share, but perhaps that feels a bit weird just to write about my day-to-day life. We shall see!
Hope you’re having a good day 🙂
Cheers,
Jaquelin
P.S. please send me photos of snow because I’m desperately missing winter!
